The bags are packed and sitting by the door. The frig needs to be cleaned out (check...just did it) and my pedicurist forgot to show up. And it's not even 1AM, yet! It seems almost surreal that we are actually going. The paperwork hunt is done. The wait is over. The passport numbers have been sent off to Alaska Airlines. The house is clean and my two pages of a "to do" list have all been scratched off. Now, to sit and pray.
Praying for Kathleen's transition back to China. The sights, the sounds, the smells can all trigger memories - good and bad. Praying for her experience in China to be a positive one. Praying for our health. We ALL came down with the flu this past week and it took the wind out of our sails. Praying for our transition to being parents of two precious little children. Praying for Jonathan's transition into our family and the grief that he will be experiencing. Praying that Kathleen will have a gracious, gentle, and nurturing spirit as she experiences Jonathan's adoption and encounters him for the first time. Praying for my mommy adrenaline to kick in even in the midst of jet lag so that I can help both my children at the drop of a hat. Praying for us as a couple that we will savor a special moment on May 15 as we celebrate our sixth anniversary in China.
China...here we come! (Now it's after 1AM!)
